About Colleen Gecawich
“My mission is empower teens by helping them understand how they learn, who they are, what their values are, and how they can step into leadership in school, in athletic competition and in life.”
This is Colleen’s personal mission. A graduate of the University of Scranton and Villanova Law School, Colleen is a former attorney who has a passion for education. Colleen was an active volunteer in the schools and her community and a substitute teacher for several years before becoming the teen program coordinator at her local library. While looking for a structure to teach young people necessary life skills, she was thrilled to discover the Academic Life Coaching program. Colleen receives great joy from working with young adults. As the mother of two teenagers herself, she understands how stress can affect teens as they navigate school, relationships and the college application process.

I have been married to my wonderful husband Bill for 25 years; we have a daughter and a son who are amazing young adults.
When I am not coaching teens, I love reading, walking my dog and spending time with friends and family. I also love to travel and I have quite a few places on my bucket list.
One of my favorite birthday presents was the opportunity to drive a stock a car on an actual racetrack…so much better than driving the minivan!
Why Academic Life Coaching for students?
I love empowering teens to make decisions and take actions to change their own lives and the lives of others. Their energy is amazing!
What’s great about Savannah?
Where I live is beautiful – from the marshes to downtown to the beach – there is inspiration everywhere. The natural surroundings, the architecture, the history, the activities and the people all are part of the vibrant community that is Savannah.
