Daily Coaching Question #6

(Quick Notes)

Today’s life coaching question comes from my reading of Daniel Kahneman’s Thinking Fast and Slow. This book is brilliant and prompted me to ask:

What structure can I put in place to help me remember my successes?

In his book, Kahneman discusses how we judge our losses around twice as much as we judge the same benefit. We are loss averse, and I experienced this earlier this week. At the end of a day when I had received both bad and good news, I found myself hanging on to the thoughts of the negative. Even though the good news I received outweighed the bad, something kept bringing me back to the negative thoughts from my day. This realization prompted me to think about what type of structure I could put in place in order to help me remember the positive around me. You can do the same by being aware of your own loss aversion and asking yourself:

What structure can I put in place to help me remember my successes?
Thank you so much for watching these videos. I look forward to your thoughts and comments below.
