I was at an education conference in August. I was listening to a former teacher talk about a school and I knew that he was blowing a bunch of hot air.
The funny thing, I was strongly reminded of being back in history class in high school.
The next thing is sad.
I found myself doing what I know most students do when they know their teacher is lying. I just sat there hoping the class would end and shuffle out with everyone else.
I totally wimped out.
The main reason: I didn’t feel like embarrassing him in front of the group by calling him out. And I didn’t feel like picking a fight over something that ultimately didn’t concern me very much.
It did leave me with the burning question, did I do the right thing?
