An Awkward Moment

October 17, 2012 by John Andrew Williams

Remember what it’s like when you’re having a conversation with someone, and it’s just the two of you in the room, but then someone else enters?

And there’s an awkward moment, when you’re not sure if you can continue talking the same way, now that someone else is also in the room.

The real value of that awkward moment is a gut check:

  • What’s making it awkward in the first place?
  • Do you really want to be talking the way that you have been talking?
  • Is there something more to be said that really important to you that deserves further conversation?
